Pulling from a generalist background of robotics, fabrication, electrical and mechanical engineering and programming, this person will design, test and build the creative technologies implemented in the company’s experiential projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee and guide best practices in overall system design and integration. Help set the standard for quality work that meets project objectives and timelines.
- Participate and be an active member of both the Creative Technology and the broader VTproDesign team, leading planning efforts for hardware integration through documentation and engaging in project planning meetings for both temporary and long-term installations.
- Manage the creation and integration of functional and reliable systems (component integration, fabrication methodology, proper documentation, etc.).
- Lead and support in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of hardware and electromechanical systems depending on the needs of the project.
- Lead onsite install - directing and performing on-the-ground troubleshooting and technical problem solving of electromechanical and software systems while collaborating with the Production, Creative, Fabrication, and External Vendor teams to ensure project success.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineers, programmers, fabricators, and various other vendors to guide execution strategy for CT and hardware systems.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external teams to:
- Design and review electrical layouts (e.g. single line drawing,) mechanical drawings (e.g. pneumatic diagram,) and site plans (e.g. rigging diagrams.)
- Generate 3D designs, schematics, technical drawings, and other documents as needed and contribute to technical and design reviews
- Lead and support:
- In the assembly of simple and complex electromechanical systems.
- In the research, development, and implementation of new tools, processes, and technologies.
